Band Bio - Miruthan

Miruthan isn’t just a band; it’s a visceral and apocalyptic narrative of survival and malevolence in the form of dark folklore and Blackened Death Metal.

Legend has it that the masked and cloaked members of this enigmatic group are survivors from a dystopian future overrun by the relentless menace of the undead. Their journey through this grim reality has birthed a twisted folklore, woven from their harrowing experiences and woven into the very fabric of their being.

With Miruthan’s emphasis on Blackened Death Metal, Miruthan still have some very Punk undertones with a massive sound and 5 vocals to add the live layers most outfits can’t match live.

Big searing guitar sounds and bass tones to match, thundering drums with blast beats that get up into the 240 bpm realm.

Peering behind the veils of secrecy that shroud their identities, it’s known that the members of Miruthan are seasoned veterans of the music industry. They had traversed the circuit, touring with various bands before fate wove their destinies into the tapestry of this singularly ominous collective.

In this chilling saga, Demigod Nzambi emerges as the central figure—the Zombie God, as they call him. He is the mastermind, responsible for penning the gruesome tale, wielding the rhythm guitar, and unleashing the primal Sprechstimme that echoes the anguish of their desolate world.

In contrast, Mvumbi, known as Ghost, takes the forefront with his haunting vocal prowess, luring listeners into the abyss of the undead. He embraces the darkness, crossing over to become one with the zombie—a symbolic representation of the world they’ve emerged from.

Priest in their folklore, contributes to the haunting ambiance of their music with intricate guitar solos and melodies that seem to sear the soul.

Ritual Priestess, responsible for costumes and choir vocals adds her own mystique, keeping the band on track and visually aligned with the dark narrative.

“Fantoma” is the haunting following Phantasm that surrounds Miruthan at all times. Mixing the vocal styles of extremely low gutteral screams as well as male choir, Haunting lows that add the massive low end to Miruthan’s sound.

Baron adds his screeching accompaniment vocals to the mix, complementing Ghosts haunting vocals, ensuring the band stays in sync like a pet zombie and skilled fighters, battling through their auditory journey.

Witch doctor, the bass player, lays down the profound foundation of their sound, anchoring their music with deep, resonant tones that reverberate through the very essence of their story.

Lastly, Wrath takes on the mantle of the drummer, the rhythmic heartbeat of their dark tale. He’s not only a musical powerhouse but also the epitome of strength and skill in the face of the post-apocalyptic world they conjure.

Miruthan’s new E.p is the prequel of where they are in the world they have created.

“Survived the Blast” is a metaphor for the change that happened to the world, The Immediate crew made their way through without imminent death and have made each one stronger, the words “Humanity Will not roll over, this beast will last” embodies the power of this story and song. Hard hitting searing guitar riff, melodic overtones and atmospheric sounds. It’s a black metal nightmare brought to life.

“At The Barricades” is a tale that is seen in lots of post apocalyptic movies. The Military has us funnelled off to one set of gates that they are deciding who dies and who lives, first words of this tale describe the lack of humanity of this “at the Gates, Of filthines”  Lots of death and carnage is this lore. Musically it is the hardest hitting song of the E.P and the introduction of a complete ambient bridge section and quite a heavy emphasis on the choir element of the band.

“Into the Abyss” Starts with an ambient trek across the baron wasteland that is the folklore of “Miruthan” Our overlord Nzambi then kicks of this track vocally with a creepy speech of darkness and solace. The atmospheric black metal influence of the band is quite strong on this track and one for the crowd chants live.

“Land of the Damned” The lyrics on the chorus state the state of the story on this song “March us through, Turmoil. A land filled with Hate” this song we are week entered into the world of the apocalypse and learning what we are up against. And it looks grim, very grim.
This song has been released as a demo and gets the statement from lots of people and fans as “a Banger” its deep down a punk song but will a massive black metal guitar sound and vocals that would scare any punk in existence.

Miruthan, as a band, forges a path into the unknown, pushing the boundaries of storytelling within the realm of music, creating a universe unparalleled and transporting fans into a post-apocalyptic realm fraught with zombies, malevolent figures, and tales of unwavering endurance. It’s a journey through sound and story that leaves an indelible mark on the psyche, beckoning all who dare to explore the shadows of their dystopian reality.

Miruthan are a hard working troop and are not slowing down any time soon, within six months of starting rehearsal have had a festival spot as their first gig and headlined most of their shows since, film clip is filmed and set to be released as a part of the new E.P and are working most nights on refining the set , recording. The first album is already demoed and the second album is being written as we speak, apart from the folklore these musicians are the real deal and not letting anything stand in their way.
